Find Time For What’s Important

There is an old adage that says: “we don’t find time for what’s important to us, we make time.”

Well that is all well and good, but what if we’re already making time for lots of awesome things that are really important to us? Do we have to make even more time in the day for things that we might not really want to do, but that are important non the less?

Perhaps it’s not as much about making time, perhaps we must Sherlock Holmes that shit and FIND the time.

“Most people have no clue what they are doing with their time but still complain that they don’t have enough.” – Grant Cardone

Grant Cardone hits the nail on the head here. Most people complain about not having enough hours in the day, but have no clue where they are actually spending it. With 24-hours in the day, there should be plenty of time to get things done, and that means no excuses when it comes to hitting a workout.

Where is that time hiding?

Regardless of what your day looks like you likely still make time to eat three meals a day, sleep, shower, text, go on social media, socialize with pals, and wind down with a little Netflix and chill. The key to finding time is to take a small portion of that daily routine and replace it with a quick training session.

4 Tips for Finding Time to Train

1. Wake your ass up.

Almost everyone has the ability to set their alarm 30-60 minutes early to get a workout in. It’s hiding right there in front of you, you just have to take that time you were using for sleep and add in a quick workout.

Sleep is important yes, but exercise helps to improve the QUALITY of sleep, so perhaps this is really just a better use of your time anyway.

2. Eliminate your commute.

Is your daily commute eating up your time? Maybe there is some time hiding in there that could be used for a workout. Find a gym nearby your work that you can go to before or after, that way you can pop in an out without wasting much time. OR, get a few simple pieces of equipment and workout at home, which will completely eliminate the need for extra time on the road.

Better yet, bike, walk or run to work and then your community IS your workout.

3. Use your lunch break?

Ok, so you can’t find an hour in the morning, and things are going to get crazy in the evening…how about utilizing that lunch break, where you just stare and your screen and eat, and instead, hit a training session.

Don’t want to get sweaty?

This sounds like an excuse, but if sweating at work is really keeping you down, then just get out and go for a brisk walk. If that’s causing you to sweat excessively, you’ve got bigger fish to fry. Either way, if you look carefully, we think there is likely some extra time hiding in your workday.

4. Master the efficient workout.

OnlineWOD is here for that. Take ten minutes from your sleep, ten minutes from your Netflix, 10 minutes from your social media binge, and BOOM you’ve just found yourself 30-minutes to workout. Not sure what you can even to in 30-minutes? Have no fear, OnlineWOD is here for you and have plenty of 30-minute workout options that are simple and require limited equipment.

There you have it folks. If you can’t seem to make the time in your life to exercise, maybe you just need to look a little harder and find where that extra time is hiding. We’re guessing it’s hiding in your screen time, but no judgements, just find it and use it.
